With their wedding around the corner, this young couple came to us ready to begin not just a renovation, but a life together. They wanted us to create a space that reflected who they are now and the life they're building.
The original main floor didn’t carry the ease or intimacy they pictured, so we reworked it to better support the life they’re building. We moved the kitchen from its dark back corner to become the true heart of the home, surrounded by light and an open flow. Wide patio doors off the dining area blur the line between inside and out, making their backyard feel like an extension of their living space.
The bar, tucked just beside the kitchen, was one of those quiet ideas that make a home feel more lived-in, and more loved. It’s where they brew coffee side by side in the morning, but also where they can set up drinks when friends come over. With no traditional back entry, we also introduced a central walk-through mudroom that connects front and rear doors—a simple, elegant way to keep things moving.
This design is warm and enduring, layered with thoughtful details and lasting materials that will only grow more meaningful with time. It’s a home made to hold the life they’re living now, with space for all the chapters of their story still to come.
