Portfolio: Wentworth Hill Renovation
Initially, the clients hoped to simply repaint their dark wood cabinetry, replace the counters, and install a new backsplash. But as conversations unfolded about how their family lives, gathers, and moves through the space, it became clear that a more thoughtful redesign could better support their lifestyle.
They wanted a brighter environment and an island that could accommodate seating and everyday gathering. Just as important was ensuring the entire main floor felt cohesive. As planning progressed, the renovation expanded to include the great room, powder room, mudroom, and home office so the main floor would feel connected through a consistent design language.
The final design blends modern transitional style with warm Scandinavian influences, pairing clean lines and minimalism with natural textures and timeless materials. Key design elements include: a Dekton slab backsplash and waterfall island, a clean-lined plaster hood, mixed metals in aged brass and polished nickel, and a refreshed fireplace with a marble mosaic. Neutral, classic furnishings anchor the space, while smaller accent pieces add personality, resulting in a light, inviting home that feels both contemporary and enduring.
